Dear Delegates, Academic and Organization Teams and Faculty Advisors, It is a honor to warmly welcome you on behalf of the Izmir TAKEV Schools Model United Nations(ITSMUN) Secretariat to the 8th Official Session of ITSMUN. As per my position of Secretary-General, I am indeed impressed with the finalization of the months of hard work, involvement, and dedication by all relevant persons. This session is the platform for fascinating discussions, innovative thinking, and meaningful cooperation in tackling serious global problems.

In the context of this conference, the students are encouraged to adopt the spirit of diplomacy, cooperation, and foresight. We are in an era where most of our world’s problems require creativity and are long-term and multi-dimensional. So, there is need for the UN to remain steadfast and true to the UN’s principles.

When arguing, negotiating and resolving, bear in mind that what you do today can determine the kind of tomorrow that will shape our collective destiny. Let us befriend diversity, build mutual respect, and work for a consensus in our endeavors to achieve sustainable development, peace, and prosperity that is for all people.

I also wish to applaud the ever committed staff, advisors and volunteers who are the key engine behind the success which this event has achieved. With your drive and commitment reflecting the ITSMUN’s values, you all become the one who motivates others towards high standards.

For you, the delegates, I would like to encourage you to utilize this excellent chance to broaden your views, build your networks, and become more knowledgeable and effective leaders and global citizens. Seize the day and face the difficulties before you with determination, for what you do now starts your journey toward a better future.

Let this 8th Official Session of ITSMUN be a road of success, where partners leave with encyclopedias of knowledge and hearts full of good memories. Let us join hands in this journey of exploration, comprehension and cooperation with the single idea of creating a world of peace that we can give to the coming generations for their future.
